Social Service Caring Unit

This ministry has 32 full time social workers. The Social workers are divided into different ministries where they have responsibilities for different areas of ministry. All the social workers are busily engaged in surveys in the slums and paying school fees for those being educated. Some are involved in the free wheel chair distribution to crippled people, some are involved in distribution of fortnightly rations to over 450 poor and destitute families. Some of the staff are involved in the distribution of milk powder, some have taken the responsibility of rehabilitation of Alampakkam Leprosy Colony. Some have been appointed to lead in the Soup Kitchen Ministry. Another team are involved in HIV Ministry for over 250 HIV affected families. Self Help groups have also been started. Special rations are distributed every month to HIV affected families. Some are in charge of the Tsunami Ministry. Others are in charge of Rural Development programs in villages, one on the border of Andhra Pradesh and one in Kastur, an interior village in Mysore State. These Rural Development projects help to rehabilitate families and girls in these areas and are trained to do beautiful cross stitch work.

 

 

Social workers work together in a tremendous way to uplift and bring hope into the lives of thousands of people.
