The Orphanage was
started
in the early 1970’s. We have over 150 children, all going to
School. Our aim is when we take a child into the Orphanage, that
we seek to educate them and we see to their holistic development.
40% of the children are orphans, others have relatives, some children
are from North India and their parents are working as mission workers
amongst tribal people. Our desire is when a child has completed
the12th standard, that we send them out for training in whatever
field they are interested in. Many of our girls are doing Nurses
training, some are attending College, some are training as teachers and
pharmacists. We have a girl who has completed medical
college, some are studying to be Lab technicians, some are doing
Secretarial courses, etc.. After they complete their respective
training, they come back to CMCT to do a bond period with us and then
we seek to get them married. After marriage, for many CMCT would
be a second home. Some continue to work with us.
We have 8 ladies working as wardens/house mothers.
