First a hostel was started for girls who came from different parts of South India.  Girls came from very poor situations and needed a place to stay.  All are from poverty, some do not have any family, and for many today the Hostel is the only home they will ever know.  Those in the Hostel are working and being trained in the Handicraft Centre.  We have some teenage girls who have failed their government exams, and we encourage them to study again, and then we enroll them in a training course.  We have over 100 living in the Hostel.
